Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy uses pure essential oils which are derived from plants, as a natural way of caring for health and wellbeing. Used in massage the oils are chosen and blended in a unique combination for each client depending on their specific needs.

The therapeutic action of the essential oils when brought together with the revitalising effects of the massage, is the perfect combination to calm, relax and balance the mind whilst at the same time easing aches and pains, stimulating the systems of the body and cleansing waste products. Aromatherapy massage uses essential oils to activate your sense of smell and increase your sense of well-being. The blend of oils are massaged into your skin to give you a smooth and flowing massage, designed to instil a sense of relaxation and calm.

How does Indian head massage work?

Indian head massage, also known as shiroabhyanga, works by using different massage movements, such as compression and kneading, to stimulate endorphins to the brain and release accumulated stress in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, neck, face and shoulders. The therapist also brings relaxation and relief by gently stimulating and stroking facial pressure points.

The benefits of these head massages include:
  • Improved blood flow
  • Reduced muscular tension
  • Improved flexibility in the neck and shoulder

Back Neck and shoulders Massage with Chinese Cupping

A Traditional Chinese Medicine approach

A deep tissue Massage using Chinese cups.
Cupping is an ancient therapy derived from the Far East which has been practised for many centuries.  Cupping can be dated back to the Ancient Egyptians in approximately 1550BC. The technique involves creating a vacuum or negative pressure in a glass cup by using either a flame or a suction pump which is then applied to the area of the body requiring treatment.
Cupping therapy works by drawing skin and underlying tissue into the cup in ways not possible using compression.
